About Kathy
Like many practitioners, my first exposure to acupuncture came through trying it for my own health issues. While doing martial arts I injured my low back and had to have surgery. A couple weeks after surgery, my sciatica started returning and it was then that I tried acupuncture. The treatments I got were gentle and effective in reducing my pain and helping me recover from surgery in general. To my doctor's surprise, by the time I went in for my first post-operative checkup I had recovered all nerve function in my leg, something he wasn't sure I would ever get back.

That experience inspired me to make acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine part of my personal health care and to become an acupuncturist myself. Within a year I had moved from Wisconsin to Portland, OR and started attending Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.

It has been seventeen years now since I graduated and every year of practice teaches me more and deepens my respect for this medical model and the resiliency of the human body.

"I was suffering from some chronic conditions including stomach problems, low energy and yo-yo-ing blood pressure and blood sugar. Kathy's acupuncture work and the herbs she chose to prescribe to me really helped to stabilize my health and I felt much better. Kathy is attentive and thoughtful in her approach. I highly recommend her work!"
